As mentioned in previous article, a budget-friendly starter kit under 1000 yuan can let you start your global selling independent site entrepreneurship project. But please note, this "start" just gives you a chance to enter the game, and you're still about 100 steps away from actually running a successful business or making money.

Next, we'll slowly dive into the actual business itself.

Product Section

1. Product Itself

Why can independent sites become "low-threshold" entrepreneurship projects, especially compared to many global selling platforms? Because independent sites can achieve truly zero inventory.

Simply put, you can wait until a customer actually places an order on your independent site, then purchase that product from the manufacturer or brand, wait for the product to arrive at your home, inspect and repackage it, and finally ship it out.

Therefore, except for personalized needs like sample inspection or completely customized development, product costs for independent site sellers can reach a certain level of "0 cost."

Specific channels are nothing more than 1688, certain e-commerce platforms, etc.; a tip: for those with determination, certain short video platforms and social media platforms are also excellent product sourcing channels.

Finally, I must say more on this topic - beginners should no longer get stuck on the "stupid" question of where to source products from. Is it possible that you actually already know the answer, you just don't want to do it? You just don't want to face the possibility that you might select some products that won't make money.

So you'll forever lie flat at the first checkpoint, whenever you're in the mood, casually ask how to source products; less than a day later you give up, then after a few days you get interested again and start asking how to source products again.

As long as you don't start, you'll never fail.

2. Product Packaging Materials

Actually, for many lazy people, packaging materials can be skipped entirely. Because they can choose direct dropshipping, and they're too lazy to even change the packaging.

And if you might have certain requirements for personalized packaging materials, then the overall cost is also very cheap:

  1. Packaging bags, depending on size and material, cost about 20-40 yuan for 100 bags. That's about 0.2-0.4 yuan per bag.
  2. Mailer boxes have similar prices, might be slightly more expensive.
  3. Custom logo stamp, 15 yuan each.
  4. Other things like if you want custom thank-you cards, about 0.1 yuan per card.

And there are some special categories like jewelry sisters, who also need things like tissue paper and so on, all at cheap prices.

All of the above can be purchased from certain e-commerce platforms.

Don't ask things like "what reliable recommendations are there" - just join the community. It's just 10-20 yuan worth of stuff, what's there to be reliable or unreliable about? If you're worried about reliability, just spend a few yuan to have them send a sample first.

Overall, packaging materials cost at minimum 0 yuan, at most about 100-200 yuan initially.

Logistics Section

1. Logistics and Freight Forwarders

Just find the top few companies, they're not much different from each other.

I'll tell you some average values roughly, so beginners have a general reference, be prepared:

Due to different time periods, different freight forwarder manufacturers, different freight forwarder products, prices will vary - don't argue, if you argue, you're right.

  1. US direction, due to well-known reasons, the US currently has no small-order tax exemption policy, so overall prices to the US will be relatively high: overall it comes to about 100-150 yuan per kg.
  2. UK and Europe direction, about 50-80 yuan per kg.
  3. Asia direction, about 30-50 yuan per kg.
  4. Australia direction: 30-50 yuan per kg

But logistics costs are similar to product costs - they're both incurred after you get an order. You just need to consider your overall costs in advance to help with your pricing.

2. Label Printer

Search on certain e-commerce platforms for 10x10 label printers, just choose any that support 10x10 label paper printing. After all, it only costs around 300-400 yuan.

Of course, an even more budget version is if you or your company has a standard printer at home, you can use it temporarily, print out A4 paper, cut out the label portion, and tape it to the package with transparent tape.
