How to Add Custom Service Policies and Terms to Your Shopify Store
How to add your own unique service policies beyond Shopify's default templates, including warranty and lowest price guarantee.

A member in the Max group recently asked: Besides Shopify's default policy templates, how can I add my own unique service policies? Like warranty, lowest price guarantee, etc.
I didn't even realize what this question meant at first. But clearly, this member's question reveals a fundamental issue that many beginners face: not understanding what "independent" really means in independent stores. They're used to following platform rules and have limited thinking.

Why Add Extra Policies?
Some product categories and sellers need additional service policies to increase their brand and product competitiveness or customer service.
For example, electronics: Do you offer warranty? If so, what are the conditions? Lifetime warranty? Will customers trust you more and place orders if they see lifetime warranty?
Or if you're a factory direct seller, you can guarantee the lowest prices. You can offer a lowest price guarantee policy - if they find a lower price, you'll refund the difference.
So, effective policies and displays can greatly enhance your brand trust and conversion rates. But please act according to your actual situation. (Think about it: as a user, would you rather buy something with a 7-day no-reason return policy or something without it?)

How to Add New Policies
Step 1: Add a Page
In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Pages, then click Add page.

Step 2: Edit Content
Option 1: Use the default blank template on that page and edit the text directly. (Advanced: you can use the HTML editor for some layout if you know how.)
Option 2: Go to your theme customization and set a specific template for this page for more custom design and layout.

Step 3: Add to Navigation
After editing, add this page to your main navigation or footer menu so users can easily find it.
You can also add icons, announcement bars, or whatever you want.

FAQ
The Independent Store Mindset
I find that many beginners in independent stores are limited by platform thinking - afraid of this and that. What are you afraid of? For independent stores, as long as your products comply with Shopify's basic guidelines (or even fewer if you use WordPress), everything else is up to you.
Other questions include "Oh no, how do I fill in shipping times? Will I be penalized if it's too slow?" or "My product is customized, can I not offer returns? Will I be fined?" ...Suffocating.
This is YOUR store, YOU are the boss. Whatever services you want to offer, whatever constraints you want - write them clearly. Shopify won't manage you, and doesn't have time to. If customers dispute, argue with them reasonably and then optimize your service.
Like restaurants - some say no outside drinks, no smoking; others allow both. As a customer, you either accept and dine, or leave.
So since you're the boss of your own website and brand, why are you still hesitating?
