Master these basics and you will easily solve 200% of your initial questions. The very first step in entrepreneurship is learning how to locate answers on your own.

1. Register Your Account
1. Head to the WorldFirst China Portal
Official URL: https://www.worldfirst.com.cn/
Important: Make sure you are on the China portal (worldfirst.com.cn).
Do not wander off to the international portal (worldfirst.com). The international site is built for foreign local businesses. Domestic individuals and Chinese entities must sign up via the China portal so your settlement and domestic payout channels connect properly.
2. Choose Your Business Category
For Shopify independent store operators, pick 「Global Selling / Global Ecommerce」 (出海电商).
Quick breakdown of other options:
- B2B Foreign Trade: Intended for traditional wire-transfer trade orders closed over email/messaging.
- Digital Entertainment: Tailored for game developers, app publishers, and affiliate networks.
- Overseas Entity: Defaults to the international portal. Even if you already formed a UK or US LLC, stick to the domestic onboarding route on your first pass.

When entering registration details, set your entity location to Chinese Mainland (even if you own a HK, UK, or US company).
You might see one of a few signup layouts—simply fill in your genuine details:

If you don't yet have a registered company and want to sign up as an individual, select "None" as prompted. If you have an active domestic business license, enter your company name.

2. Identity Verification (KYC)

Newcomers always freeze here: "Should I choose a Business Account or an Individual Account?"
Bottom Line: Either Works!
- Solo operators: Go with 「Individual Account」 for minimal hassle. You only need your national ID, and approval is usually lightning fast.
- Small teams / Domestic corporate owners: Choose 「Business Account」. Just make sure your business scope includes retail, ecommerce, or trading (individual industrial/commercial households are also supported).
The Real Difference Lies in Withdrawal Destinations:
- Business Account: Withdrawals must go to your corporate bank account or your legal representative's bank card/Alipay.
- Individual Account: Withdrawals can go directly to any debit card or Alipay under your own legal name.

Follow the steps, upload clear ID photos, and submit. You will typically receive an approval response within half a business day.

3. Apply for Receiving Accounts
Once verified, you can generate virtual local receiving accounts for your store.

Key fields to get right:
- Receiving Currency & Country: This must strictly match your Shopify Payments registration entity:
- US Entity: Choose USD - United States
- UK Entity: Choose GBP - United Kingdom
- Hong Kong Entity: Choose HKD - Hong Kong
Don't try to outsmart the system by requesting a USD account for a UK entity to capture GBP. Currency mismatches will cause payout rejections.
- Payment Providers: Select Shopify Payments and PayPal.
- Store Name: Enter your store's customer-facing brand name.
- Store URL: Enter your underlying
.myshopify.comhandle (e.g. fromadmin.shopify.com/store/XXXXX, enterXXXXX.myshopify.com). - Store Holder: Enter matching owner credentials. If you set up a UK Company Entity or US Company Entity, supply those corporate details here.

App Authorization Notice: WorldFirst tries to install a companion Shopify App to auto-read order totals. However, this app frequently encounters App Store delistings or maintenance periods. If the popup errors out, simply close it and proceed. It will not block your receiving account generation.

Once completed, visit Store Management to inspect your dedicated virtual bank credentials (Account Number, Routing Number, Sort Code, IBAN, etc.).

4. Connect Your Receiving Account to Shopify Payments
In your Shopify Admin, navigate to Settings > Payments > Shopify Payments, then locate Payout bank account.
Copy and paste your newly assigned WorldFirst bank credentials into the respective fields:

If you are uncertain which number goes where (IBAN, BIC, Routing Number, Sort Code, Account Number), take screenshots of both panels and prompt an AI assistant to map each value line by line.
5. Add a Domestic Withdrawal Method
Link your local domestic payout destination inside WorldFirst (UnionPay debit cards or verified personal Alipay):
- Rule: The withdrawal recipient name must strictly match your WorldFirst account identity.
- Once connected, any foreign currency received from Shopify payouts can be converted into RMB and settled directly into your card.

6. Quota Management (Manual Order CSV Upload)
International payment settlement platforms are regulated to verify underlying trade authenticity. WorldFirst relies on an "Available Withdrawal Quota" to ensure payouts correspond to real merchant sales.
If you skipped the automated Shopify App sync earlier, how do you raise your quota?
Simple Solution: Upload an Orders CSV Manually
- Go to WorldFirst dashboard > Quota Management, select your channel (e.g. Shopify Payments).
- Click Manual Upload on the right.

- In Shopify Admin > Orders, export your paid order history as a standard CSV file.
- Upload the CSV into WorldFirst. Once parsed, your withdrawable quota will increment accordingly.

7. Withdrawing Your Funds
When payouts from Shopify Payments or PayPal settle into WorldFirst, you can trigger a withdrawal anytime:
- Withdraw funds directly to your linked RMB debit card or personal Alipay account.
- Exchange rates track live interbank settlement rates, with rapid clearing times.

8. Practical Pro Tips
- Virtual Credit Cards: WorldFirst offers virtual card products. You can spend received balances directly on Google Ads, Meta Ads, or supplier fees without incurring round-trip conversion fees.
- Partner Ecosystem Perks: Browse the partner perks section for discounts on store software, shipping integrations, and business services.

- Domestic vs International Portals:
- China Edition (WorldFirst CN): Designed for Chinese merchants for compliant, hassle-free RMB repatriation, typically capped at 0.3% fees.
- International Edition (WorldFirst Global): Best for foreign entity treasury management, paying global vendors, or funding overseas SaaS subscriptions.
