Good News First

1. I'm Now a Google Partner—Time to Start "Cutting" (Scamming)?

Can I now help everyone with ad management and account setup? (Actually, the requirements are pretty simple—anyone can do it if they try. I'll write a tutorial later. But if you don't have a "scamming" business need like mine, getting this status isn't that useful.)

Not sure if Meta has something similar, but I know some Meta certifications at least require paid exams. Maybe I'll look into that when I have time.

Google Partner Certification Requirements:

  • Account managers must pass Google Ads certification exams
  • Account must meet minimum advertising spend requirements
  • Account and ads must comply with Google policies

2. Blogger Collaboration Made a Sale

The second blogger I collaborated with also made a sale. Even though I wasn't optimistic about it, they actually made a sale! And this person was super proactive—they posted on Facebook for me and even paid to boost the post (they initially wanted to charge me for Facebook promotion in their email).

3. UK Local Store Wants Distribution Partnership

A small-to-medium UK local site reached out wanting to do distribution with me. They probably found me through social media. This competitor site is in the same category as mine, and they asked if I could do dropshipping, if I could set them up with a wholesale account, about pricing, etc.

But looking at my Shopify Basic plan, it doesn't have the related functionality, and I haven't had time to research it. I'll get this sorted this week.

Bad News

1. Performance Decline

Main reason: Ads stopped performing well again. My initial suspicion is that I slightly adjusted the budget in the middle of things, and that threw everything off.

Secondary reason: The bloggers aren't making many sales either.

Ad Optimization Reminder: When adjusting ad budgets, make gradual changes of no more than 20% at a time to avoid disrupting the system's learning process.

2. After-Sales Issues

We've had several after-sales issues pop up one after another: wrong items shipped, returns and exchanges. Ugh, headaches.

3. Rising Shipping Costs

Shipping costs keep going up. It's so tough.

Challenges and Responses

Facing Real, Healthy Growth (Organic Growth)

But I still want to say: this is a universal, real situation for solo global selling entrepreneurs. It's very difficult to maintain high-speed growth throughout.

Moreover, that kind of growth needs to match your resource investment, time investment, professional ability, and many other dimensions.

Take the content you see on social media bragging about "explosive sales" every day—just laugh it off when you see it.

And for many real success stories, we should pay more attention to the resources and efforts they put in behind the scenes, as well as their own abilities—rather than getting "lead" by others after a moment of impulse.

I hope that through real sharing, I can ease the anxiety of all new solo sellers, and let all newcomers see how a real solo global selling entrepreneur grows (and potentially goes bankrupt).

(Actually, this is kind of comforting myself too—don't rush, don't rush to leverage entrepreneurial bets. Learn and practice gradually. If you don't make it, it's your own fault for not being hardworking or smart enough. If you do make it, it's all thanks to your real skills.)
