How to Ship Packages in the UK? Complete Royal Mail Guide! How to Handle Returns for Global Selling?

I previously wrote an article about after-sales service and returns for global selling independent sites.

In that article, I discussed what to do if a customer really wants to return an item and asks you to provide a return label.

Today, I'll teach you how to use Royal Mail (the UK equivalent of SF Express) step by step!

Royal Mail Official Website

Let's Go Step by Step!

Select your destination and approximate package specifications. (You can ship internationally too—more on that later!)

Choose your service product (mainly differences in delivery speed and tracking availability)

Generally, the cheapest option is 2nd Class, which works fine for most cases

One benefit of some countries is that postcodes directly correspond to residential addresses.

Especially in the UK—when you enter a postcode, you can directly search for the related address and select the corresponding house number.

Enter sender postcode and related information.

Pro tip: You can hide the sender's address on the label.

Then select the shipping method—generally choose door collection (free)—and you don't need customers to print labels either (also free).

Then select a door collection time.

Done!

Verify information, pay, and you're done!

Just use your own email address here. No need to fill in the customer's email.

Rates and Specifications

Royal Mail can also help you ship internationally from the UK. Specific prices depend on the region. Shipping to Europe is definitely cheaper.
