A real solopreneur's journey from anxiety to peace: honest reflections on building a global e-commerce business and personal brand from scratch.

Perhaps the Most Powerful Chicken Soup for Solopreneurs: Looking Back at My Anxious Self from 6 Months Ago

The Most Powerful Chicken Soup for Solopreneurs

Preface: Why Do I Keep Sharing "Chicken Soup"?

From day one as a niche content creator, my positioning has been: Authentic.

I do everything possible to highlight my authenticity, to compete with those inauthentic "harvesters."

  • They Photoshop fake order screenshots. I publish weekly reports with real backend data, screenshot by screenshot. To date, I've persisted for 21 issues. (Sometimes I combine multiple weeks when too busy)

Weekly Report Screenshot

  • They use ChatGPT to generate low-quality "dry goods" content. I guide you step by step, word by word. To date, I've published 114 tutorials.

Practical Tutorial

  • They use one screenshot to create anxiety, then turn around and harvest. I painstakingly provide practical content and regularly share "chicken soup" to encourage everyone who works seriously, like this article.

Authentic Sharing

What's the Meaning of All This?

Simply put: In a social media landscape full of scams and harvesting, I differentiate through my product (content) by being authentic, thereby building a more solid personal brand IP and ultimately achieving sustainable monetization.

So, sharing "chicken soup" is also part of my authentic content strategy. Because I believe only those who have truly done it can empathize with the actual pain and difficulties one must go through.

Time to Brag: So What Have I Gained?

  • My small independent site has stabilized—not seeking explosive growth, just wanting to live up to my efforts (you can see real results in every weekly report).

  • Thanks to readers and fans, I've accumulated what I consider a reasonable number of social media followers and community members. More importantly, the health of my private community is very high.

Community Health

  • Some people have become client partners because they see my sincerity and recognize my expertise. What impressed me most was a fan who directly sent me a 200 yuan red envelope last July after I solved their problem.

  • Most importantly, whenever I see messages from fans expressing recognition of the practical content and feeling encouraged—that's when I feel most valuable.

Effective Chicken Soup: Don't Worry, Normal People Get Anxious and Face Difficulties!

But please don't just look at the results while ignoring the real, visible anxiety and effort others have put in.

I sincerely invite all readers with needs—whether you're anxious, confused, questioning, or just want to watch the show.

First, look at what I've put in this past year.

From the Personal IP Perspective

Monetization: As I've shared with you, actual income is not optimistic.

Follower count: Maybe not the worst on the entire internet, but here's the situation:

  • XHS: 9k+
  • Bilibili: 6k+
  • WeChat Official: 2k+
  • YouTube: 2k+
  • Xiaoyuzhou: 2k+

People, I've been doing this for a year, published over 100 pieces of content, averaging one update every 3 days.

Those who've done content creation, you understand the traffic anxiety, right?

Every time I write, record, and edit for 2-3 hours, then look at the views—hehe, 200+.

You think I haven't been anxious at all? Who would believe that?

Then to My Small Independent Site

Currently stable at 10k+ weekly revenue, 8k+ social media followers.

This is where real weekly reports come in handy. I don't even need to explain with words—words are too powerless. I'll just let you feel two clips from my weekly report videos, the sound of my voice. Feel the anxiety and helplessness from back then.

Some readers might say: Hmph, you just got lucky with some small achievements and now you're showing off. Others might say, one year isn't that long, and with such small achievements, what qualifications do you have to talk so grandly?

1) Getting Lucky:

I won't hide it—I have another secret title: #Web3 Deserter. Yes, that "chaotic" and questioned Web3. I spent about 3-5 months learning and trying so-called Web3.

Can't say I gained nothing—more accurately, I lost blood and exited (check my XHS, there are posts).

What can you do? When you choose a path and realize it's not suitable, you exit and switch quickly.

So, I didn't start from 0-1 with cross-border e-commerce either. And my original major has almost nothing to do with cross-border e-commerce.

2) Only One Year with Such Small Achievements, What Qualifications to Brag:

This is the meaning of authenticity.

At 3 months I was recording, sharing, and bragging. At 1 year I'm still bragging. At 2 years I'll continue bragging. What will you say then?

More Effective Chicken Soup: After Anxiety Comes Exceptional Calm and Spiritual Abundance

Joyfully Embracing Sustainable, Healthy Growth

After the traffic anxiety of personal IP, I still believe I'm doing the right thing.

So what if traffic is poor?

Isn't attracting one precise and loyal fan friend better than a mere 100k+ number?

Alright, let's not be abstract. One precise user who converts to a paying customer out of trust in your personal IP—isn't that enough for a small individual like me to imagine and continue working toward?

I've figured out positioning and strategy, so next is execution!

I just need to continue maintaining authentic, high-quality output to attract more precise traffic. Meanwhile, I'll polish my monetization products and gradually launch them.

(I've been doing content for a year, and just on April 9th launched my first serious public paid service: UK/US Company Registration Service)

That's all.

Sound familiar?

Isn't this exactly the basic logic of cross-border e-commerce I've always talked about?

The logic of cross-border e-commerce independent sites is exactly the same, and in some ways even simpler than content creation.

Because the basic global market demand is there, products leverage China's quality supply chain, and I don't need to understand product development. As a small solopreneur without much operating cost, I just do my part well and get a small share—I'm already very satisfied.

So it's the same!

Just continuously maintain high-quality operations (SEO content, your own social media, ad promotion, etc.), while finding corresponding good products (unlike content creation where I have to create myself, I don't even need to polish).

That's all!!!

Go For It, Keep Going

So I realize whether it's cross-border e-commerce, personal IP monetization, or any personal entrepreneurship,

The hard part is whether you can find the right path and persist in giving effort for it.

The easy part is that once positioning and strategy are set, the rest is just handing it over to time and repetitive, simple, basic effort.

Let's encourage each other.
