Shopify Markets Setup Guide: Global Multi-Country Selling Configuration (Part 2)
A step-by-step guide on how to configure Shopify Markets for global selling. Learn to add markets, set up languages and domains, adjust pricing, and configure shipping for multiple countries.

In the previous article, we covered the prerequisites: Shopify Markets Prerequisites and Best Practices (Part 1)
In this article, we'll walk through step-by-step how to configure Shopify Markets in your admin dashboard!

1. Adding Markets

There are two approaches:
Method 1: Add Individually
If you want more granular control over each country market's operations, add each country as a separate market.
Method 2: Add as Groups
For example, you might group EU countries together, English-speaking countries together, or North American countries together based on your own market management logic.
Recommendation for beginners: Add markets individually! Don't blindly chase quantity - adding more markets won't automatically generate more sales. Once you're familiar with the system, you can reorganize into groups later. This only affects your backend management, not the customer-facing experience.

2. Management and Settings

Languages and Domains

For languages, ensure you've added the corresponding language for each market. See the tutorial: Shopify Translate & Adapt Complete Guide
For domains, since Shopify updated with auto-redirect, beginners can simply use the default setting with a unified main domain. Each language will have its own subfolder.
For example, www.abc.com is the default English site, and www.abc.com/fr is the French site.
For advanced users, you can use full subfolders format. Countries will be separated: www.abc.com/en-fr means English for France, www.abc.com/fr-fr means French for France.

Price Adjustments

This feature allows you to uniformly adjust prices for specific market regions, as covered in a previous article.
Duties and Import Taxes

Beginners don't need to touch this section. I won't advise on tax matters - that's not my expertise. If you're curious about taxes, research independently. I've already told you beginners can skip this.
Add Shipping Methods

Just ensure you have at least one shipping method configured. This is straightforward - I may create a dedicated shipping setup guide later.
Other Preferences

Beginners can enable all options. Check the video for details on what each does.
