Privacy and data handling information for Max AI: Podcastify.

This Privacy Policy explains how Max AI: Podcastify handles data when installed on a Shopify store.

Data We Access

The app may access store and content data needed to provide podcast workflows:

  • Shopify store domain and app session data.
  • Shopify products used for episode linking.
  • Shopify blogs and articles used for podcast-to-blog drafts.
  • Podcast metadata, RSS URLs, episode titles, descriptions, covers, and audio URLs.
  • Audio processing metadata, transcript text, article previews, and generation history.
  • Storefront settings such as player enablement, appearance controls, and default podcast selection.
  • Operational logs used to diagnose app workflows and errors.

How Data Is Used

Data is used to:

  • Import and manage podcast and episode records.
  • Render storefront player, episode card, and podcast surface data through app proxy endpoints.
  • Link episodes with Shopify products.
  • Generate transcripts and article draft previews.
  • Save approved article drafts to Shopify.
  • Enforce plan limits and usage accounting.
  • Diagnose sync, audio, storefront, and generation issues.

Audio and File Storage

When audio processing is used, the app may store processed playback objects in Cloudflare R2. The app stores object keys and playback metadata in the database so storefront playback can resolve eligible media.

AI Processing

When transcript or article generation is requested, episode audio or transcript text may be sent to configured AI or transcription providers. Generated content should be reviewed by the merchant before publishing.

Shopify Content

Blog drafts saved to Shopify are stored in the merchant's Shopify admin. If the app is uninstalled, Shopify content that was already saved remains in Shopify unless the merchant deletes it.

Uninstall and Webhooks

The app listens for Shopify app uninstall events and records uninstall state. Access to app-managed workflows stops after uninstall.
