0: The Importance of Shopify Payments

Shopify Payments

If you're in any of my communities or any other groups, I won't elaborate. Just ask anyone who has SP enabled what percentage of their payment transactions go through SP, and you'll understand.

Previous articles covered the complete payment collection, receiving, and withdrawal process. The core requirement for enabling SP (Shopify Payments) is that you need an overseas business entity.

This article will specifically cover how to enable SP once you have an overseas entity.

1: How to Switch to Shopify International Region

Case 1: Complete Beginners Who Haven't Opened a Store Yet

If you're a complete beginner who hasn't opened a store yet, you can select the region corresponding to your overseas entity location during Shopify registration, such as the UK.

Case 2: Already Opened a Store with a Chinese Address

If you initially opened a Shopify store with a Chinese address, we need to switch the address in the store backend to the corresponding country.

2: How to Activate Shopify Payments

After switching to an international region, you'll see the SP activation prompt in the payments section.

Since we're enabling through a company, uncheck the box here.

Company Form

Select the corresponding entity type. For the UK, most people choose individual limited company.

Next, fill in various details.

The WorldFirst account setup tutorial was covered in earlier articles - smooth and easy. (Remember not to open a B2B account, and don't open an overseas account. Just open a domestic WorldFirst account using your domestic information.)

Click confirm to submit.

3: KYC Verification

After submission, you'll typically be prompted on the homepage to submit some verification documents, such as:

  • Address proof document (matching your overseas business address)
  • Personal identity proof (passport)
  • Company proof (official documents)

KYC Documents

If everything goes smoothly, after submission, if there are no prompts or feedback on the homepage, you have successfully enabled it.

4: What to Do If Your Store Gets Banned?

I have to admit, store bans are quite common and somewhat mysterious. (The reasons can be many - some people have non-compliant products, problematic environments, etc.)

However, I absolutely refuse to manufacture or sell anxiety. Looking at those selling shovels, they make up various ban reasons just to sell their services.

My personal view: As long as your store is legitimate, compliant, and your environment is clean, even if you get "wrongfully" banned, you can follow the official steps, submit the required documents for appeal, and almost always get it back.

5: Anti-Ban Tips

I don't want to establish content authority or gain traffic by writing various unverified "tips," so I need a disclaimer: Account and store bans are common events throughout the global selling process, with diverse reasons that are hard to pinpoint.

Based on my personal experience and community members' experiences, here are some things I believe can increase security:

1. Clean Network Environment

Any network solution you buy from anywhere is unreliable. They say dedicated line, exclusive, and you believe it?

I personally use, and recommend community members use, setting up your own VPS server. This has been my environment for a year, and ChatGPT and TikTok work fine too.

2. Use "Formal" Information

Your Shopify registration email can directly use a business domain email.

Your phone number, if possible, should also use a local number.

You can decorate your store to a professional level before activating SP, with all Policies clearly written.

I've seen too many newcomers with a bare store, nothing set up, going around trying to set up payment collection and channel accounts. em... I personally don't recommend that.

Not to mention those selling infringing or illegal products - just give up on Shopify.

Enabling Shopify Payments requires an overseas business entity. If you don't have an overseas company yet, it's recommended to register a UK or US company first before proceeding with the SP setup process.
