1. Primary Business Address

Primary Business Address Settings

This address refers to your company entity's address, and it's crucial for activating Shopify Payments and Meta channels.

If you've already registered an overseas entity, simply fill in your overseas entity's address during registration, or modify it at the location shown in the screenshot.

2. Shopify Payments Activation Address

When activating Shopify Payments, you'll encounter two address fields, which can be confusing for many sellers.

First: Business Address

The first "business address" should undoubtedly be your overseas entity address.

Second: Personal Details Address

The second "personal details" address can be confusing for some.

My practical answer: You can fill in either your overseas company address OR your real domestic personal address! You only need to consider whether you can prove the address belongs to you (such as providing utility bills, government documents, etc.).

In practice, my clients have successfully used both: some filled in the overseas company address again, while others used their real domestic address. There's no rule like "filling in XX will get you banned" or "not filling in XX will cause problems."

3. Shipping Origin Address

This setting also causes confusion. Simply put, for new individual sellers, you can understand this as your shipping location (warehouse location), which can be any domestic address!

In other words, you can fill in a domestic address here! This address is not visible to customers.

For larger sellers with overseas local warehouses or physical stores, this needs to be set according to actual circumstances, which will affect subsequent shipping settings.

When filling in an overseas address here, it may trigger tax-related issues (because you're indicating to Shopify that your business entity is operating overseas). Please consult relevant tax experts for tax matters.

4. Contact Address

Contact Address Settings

This is the only address that needs to be publicly displayed. You need to show your "business address" on your Contact Us page or any relevant location.

This helps build customer trust and makes it easier to pass various platform/channel verifications. My recommendation is to keep it consistent with your business address.
