How to Bulk Edit or Upload Products on Shopify? Shopify Tips
Complete guide on Shopify's two official methods for bulk editing and uploading products: using the Bulk Editor and CSV Import/Export. Perfect for managing large product catalogs.

Sometimes you might face work that requires batch processing product data.
Like batch modifying SKUs, batch adding Barcodes (GTINs)? Quickly changing product prices? Or if you're running a general store model with massive product uploads, and other needs.
Shopify actually has various batch editing or upload functions built in!
No more talk—2 methods! Let's dive right in.

Method 1: Using the Official Bulk Editor
The Bulk Editor can only modify existing products, not upload new ones.

Steps
On the products list page, select the products you want to edit.
Click the "bulk edit" button.
After entering the bulk editor, you can select which fields you want to edit.

Directly edit the content you need in the table.

After editing, save your changes.
Bulk Editor Use Cases:
- Batch price modifications
- Batch inventory updates
- Batch SKU additions
- Batch Barcode/GTIN additions
- Batch status changes (Draft/Active)
Method 2: CSV Import Method
This is a more powerful method that can upload new products and batch modify.

Steps
First, export an existing product as a CSV template.

Open the file in Excel or a CSV editor and start editing.

Tips: Remember to select "Draft" status in CSV, which allows you to more calmly check and modify products in the Shopify admin after uploading.
After editing, upload your CSV file.

Check and modify products in the admin after uploading, then publish.

CSV Import Advantages:
- Supports batch uploading new products
- Can batch modify all product fields
- Suitable for general store mass listings
- Can edit offline for improved efficiency
