Get up and running with Max AI: Omni Translator in minutes. Follow these steps to set up your multilingual store.
Prerequisites
You'll need a Shopify store with admin access. The app is embedded in the Shopify admin and requires at least one additional store language to translate into.
Quick Start Guide
Install and Open the App
- Install the app from the Shopify App Store
- Open the app from Apps in your Shopify admin
- You'll land on the dashboard with setup guidance
New installs will see onboarding guidance to help you get started quickly.
Add a Language in Shopify
- In Shopify admin, go to Settings → Languages
- Add and enable at least one non-primary language (for example, French)
- Ensure the language is published
The app requires at least one additional store language to translate into. Without this, you won't be able to start translations.
Enable App Active Languages
- In the app, open the Languages page
- Enable the languages you want to manage with the app
- Mark them as "app active" to unlock translation features
Expected result: The language shows as app-active, and translation views allow selecting it.
Run a Full Scan
- From the dashboard or the Translations area, click Scan (or Start scan)
- Wait for the scan job to finish
- Review the updated totals and resource breakdown
A completed full scan baseline unlocks translation views and provides accurate coverage and credit estimation.
Start Bulk Translation
- Create or edit a product in your store with clear title and description
- In the app, go to Translations
- Select Products and choose your target language
- Start a bulk translation (all items or selected items)
Expected result: A translation job starts, progress updates in the UI, and the product shows translated status when finished.
Verify in Shopify
- In Shopify admin, open the same product
- Use the language selector or translation view to confirm translated fields exist
- Check that the translated content matches what the app produced
Translated content is saved directly in Shopify and remains active even if you uninstall the app.
Optional: Enable Auto-Pilot
- In the app, open Settings → Auto-Pilot
- Enable Auto-Pilot, choose languages and resource types
- Set a schedule for automatic checks
- Configure notifications if desired
